Lemon win Gambling Compliance Bid
Lemon computing are delighted to have won a cost-cutting and efficiency-improving project for our client, Gambling Compliance ltd.
The project involves various aspects aimed at increasing operational efficiency including:
Application white listing
Whitelisting only allows applications that are on the whitelist to run. Today's high-security and easy-change application whitelisting solutions simultaneously stop the most sophisticated malware attacks (e.g., rootkits, memory exploits) while allowing users to safely install new applications and have them automatically added to the whitelist without requiring IT involvement. With the number of patches on the rise, organizations could benefit greatly from relying on solutions that prevent unauthorized applications from executing in the first place, such as application whitelisting technology, severely reducing the need for patching and thus allowing systems administrators to spend more time on other critical IT and security functions.
Automatic application deployment
The software we use is an automated software deployment, upgrade and removal program for Windows. It can be used to push/pull software packages, such as Service Packs, hotfixes, or program installations from a central server (for example, Samba or Active Directory) to a number of workstations. This means less administration over-all, allowing the network administrator to spend his time on more productive issues whilst also keeping the network rigorously up to date, increasing security.
Customised Windows XP deployment
We are required to build an automated XP deployment over the network. The XP build has been streamlined to include only the functions the customer requires. The build also includes device drivers for the various types of workstations/laptops. This ensures the workstations/laptops are rebuilt correctly and quickly
Desktop lock down
Lemon Computing have found that 85% of support calls relate to workstation issues. By controlling much more tightly what can and cannot be done with a workstation we can reduce the number of support calls, and reduce the amount of time Gambling Compliance’s employees waste with malfunctioning computers.
Typical examples of desktop lockdown are disabling the use of USB sticks and forcing users to save to a central server instead of the local machine. It also allows each machine to be identical allowing users to move around machines more easily.
