About Lemon

Lemon is a company established on the belief that for far too long the technology market has suffered from unscrupulous or unreliable service providers. We are intent on creating a new standard in high quality service and support.

Members of the Lemon team can draw on a wealth of experience having worked across the gamut of the technology information and design markets. This allows us immediate access to new, exotic or proprietary technologies. Our extensive experience means we have designed services we are sure will best suit our clients, whatever their requirements.

This is however a work-in-progress that mirrors the changing nature of this industry. We are constantly striving to adapt, move forward and improve. In this way our services can only be refined and enhanced for the benefit of our clients. When it comes to customer service we strive to always treat our clients in the way we would wish to be treated - promptly and honestly. At Lemon we offer an all-round service. This ensures peace of mind to our clients as it minimises their loss of productivity.

Our philosophy

Our philosophy is to be proactive rather than reactive in our approach to systems design and support. After all, if any system is properly set up, it should not fail. However, many networks require a more exacting form of maintenance and this is where our personal approach comes to the fore. With a broad range of maintenance contracts we are confident that we have a level to match any needs our clients may require. Our ordering and delivery service ensures that no client will be incorrectly or falsely advised about any product.

Our Aims

Our aim is to supply the customer with what they require, when they want it and not, like too many suppliers in the market, push items they simply don't need. We are proud of our company name and we offer a complete assurance of quality work, for instalment or implementation. In the case of hardware or software supply, all equipment is supplied with full warranties.

To deliver an optimum I.T. service we believe more is involved than simple technical know-how. It includes financial budgeting, development, systems integration, legal issues, training, documenting, planning up to board level and most importantly, an open, honest and continuing relationship between ourselves and our clients. We not only desire but actively invite positive and negative feedback.

At Lemon we are constantly seeking to upgrade, not only our systems but ourselves. We are in partnership with our clients. Together we can take the bitterness out of I.T.

How good are we?

We don't believe it is appropriate for us to publish details of past or present clients here, but amongst other things, we have (either individually or collectively, and not necessarily whilst working for Lemon):

Industry Types

Lemon Computing works with organisations across a multitude of industry sectors. These include;

What do we do?

Lemon aims to provide a full range of IT support, with a particular focus on the needs of small to medium-sized companies.

This often involves a specific project, such as setup or analysis and migration of an office network, which is then followed by subsequent support, monitoring and further development projects.

How do we do it?

Independence

Whatever we are doing, our goal is to provide the best possible solution to the client's problem. We believe that this requires us to be completely independent, of suppliers in particular. It also means that the client should not be dependent on us in the longer term - if we are to continue working for any particular client, it should be because they want us to, not because they feel we've got them trapped.

Freedom

This approach also leads us to be wary of over-reliance on particular pieces of software, and supportive of the commonly-confused concepts behind 'Open-Source' and 'Free Software'.

For an explanation of what is meant by 'Free Software', look at the Free Software Foundation's GNU project website, in particular the sections on their philosophy (see the links on 'Why Software Should Be Free' and 'Why Software Should Not Have Owners').

For an explanation of what is meant by 'Open Source Software', have a look at the Open Source Initiative's definition.

Whilst you (or even we) may not agree entirely with either of the above two groups' positions, there are undeniably significant benefits to be gained from choosing 'Free' or 'Open Source' software over comparable proprietary software.

Impartiality

In order to ensure our advice remains impartial, we try to avoid supplying either hardware or software which is available "off-the-shelf" ourselves (we don't want to create the possibility of being influenced by the margins we could make on different and possibly inferior products).

We will, however, do so in particular cases where it enables us to significantly improve the service we are able to provide -- for example where complex licenses need to be arranged, or custom hardware is required.

Where hardware, software, or infrastructure services are required, we will therefore usually arrange for them to be supplied by a third party.
